BRIEF NOTE ABOUT THE ARTIST

António Delfim was born in the village of Ota, Lisbon region, in 1956. Since an early age,  he had shown a great potential at drawing and painting.  Having worked for years as a designer of architectural plans, he decided in 1990 to fully devote himself to oil painting, supported by two fine established masters. In 1992 he had his first individual exhibition, achieving a great amount of success. Since then, he has built a career exhibiting in several prestigious galleries in Portugal and Spain, namely the galleries Euroarte (Lisbon), Edmundo Cruz (Sintra), Tàndem Art Gallery (Barcelona), working for years as an exclusive artist for the Gallery Euroarte and his work is currently represented in museums and private collections in Portugal and in the United States of America. In 2000, he won the 1st prize for Painting assigned by the Naval Academy and in 2013 he was awarded with the medal of merit (silver) by Ota local council. In 2014, after participating for the third  time he won the 1st prize for Painting assigned by the Naval Academy and in 2016 he was awarded with  honorable mention by the Naval Academy as well. In 2017 he was preselected by the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art - Barcelona), for the international exhibition “Figuratives 2017” and in 2018, participating by the fifth time, he received another honorable mention by the Naval Academy.
